Maccarthur and Truman seen waterskiing around the Louisiana Purchase!
Seemingly endless rah rah this time of What Makes The U.S. of A so great.. So here we go!
U.N. celebrates it's 5th anniversary both in New York and abroad. Liked the attention this got. Liked the big flap when Truman shook the russian general's hand.. The abroad thing was great too, I was a little dubious though at the amount of Germans who turned out for the unveilling of the Victory Bell though.. Hmmm..
We then follow Truman as he flies to an island for a visit with Maccarthur about the Korean War. Before that, he pops by Hawaii to make a surprisingly robust speech. All of this was very interesting.
'Good News From Europe!" focuses on Europe rebuilding after the War, funny how after every segment of this, the narrator reminds us that most of the rebuilding was in large part, funded by Dem Americans!
The rest are pretty much fluff pieces.. A Scientist shows us how Mice and Cats can live together and work together to achieve a Common Goal! (what this alludes to is very mysterious)
A race with 'Old Time Autos' is featured. Now, since this was made in 1950, we're dealing with REALLY old time cars. The speed of these cars it looks like, doesnt go beyond 30 miles an hour lol.
We see a Vienna riding troupe, doing some clever tricks..
We see a waterskiing troupe, skiing around the New York Harbor, narrowly missing tanker ships! Aww! That couldve been interesting..
Finally, the film ends with a History Lesson, the story about the Louisiana Purchase! A lot of this looks lifted from some movie of some sort. It's really not interesting, maybe that's why they put it after the waterskiing segment..
